“The weakest link in Astrology is the Astrologer”

The increased access to astrological information due to the internet and social media presents a double-edged sword for those interested in learning astrology and in receiving astrological consultations. On the one hand, having knowledge about astrology at one’s fingertips provides a boon to astrologers, giving us the ability to increase our knowledge and share information with others of all levels. On the other hand, good, solid information is mixed in with muck. There is a lot of bad astrological information available online, and there are a lot of bad and unqualified astrologers.

The quote above embodies a major part of my philosophy of, and approach to, astrology. By understanding that I as the astrologer am the weakest link, it becomes my responsibility to constantly forge that link and make it stronger. “Forging my link” means being more accurate and specific in astrological delineation and prediction, more open to new ways to look at astrological charts and more refined and effective in my communication of astrological concepts and ideas in teaching students and consulting clients.

2022 will mark 30 years for as a student of astrologer and 25 years focusing on Ancient Astrology, especially authors such as Vettius Valens, the Persian and Arabic astrologers and Guido Bonatti. I am also a student of Vedic astrology.

The characteristic that both Ancient Western astrology and Vedic astrology display is a high level of rigor. That rigor informs informs my approach to astrology and allows me to be guided by the spirit of inquiry, which in turn improves and refines my astrology.

The learning is a lifelong pursuit with astrology. I am honored to be involved with such a powerful and illuminating practice.
